For me, catfish fishing in Germany inevitably involves the dead bait fish. Legal regulations oblige us to develop montages and bait presentations that look as realistic as possible. The Black Cat team is always meticulously and meticulously facing new challenges to ultimately create outstanding products for catfish fishing. That's why for some time now I have been dominated by three directly linked components: the Buzzer Hooks, the Tree-U-Poses and the Dead Bait Puncher including the cork sticks. They are all the right tools and aids for the preparation and presentation of dead bait fish. For this purpose I prefer to use trout weighing about 300 to 400 grams.

And this is how the "threesome" works
We'll start with the Dead Bait Puncher. I make an incision in the skin on the back above the anal fin, about one centimeter long. Then the Dead Bait Puncher is inserted by me rotating up to the head, so that I remove a piece of back fillet. The cork-sticks are put into the created cavity by means of the puncher and pushed into the back with the inner stick. It is important that the sticks are used in equal numbers on both backs of the bait fish. As a rule of thumb: always use as many cork sticks as can be placed along the length of the back! When actually baiting it is very important that the guide hook is guided through the lower and upper jaws to keep the mouth of the bait fish closed.
Next, please! The Buzzer Hook! It is placed in the area of the anal fin and works quasi "against" the cork sticks in the back, like a kind of counterweight or keel, to stabilize the lure in the current. The buzzer, a rotating spinner blade, fulfils the task of generating the necessary pressure waves directly on the lure, so that the catfish can also quickly locate the lure when it is laid out.
The tail light of our diabolical triple is the Tree-U-Pose. The first impression counts. Simply a great development, this underwater pose, which resembles a Christmas tree in shape! Due to its wave-like design, it manages to create additional current vortices a few centimetres before the guide hook. With its induced turbulences it provides for real "boom" under water.
To the not allowed fishing with live bait fish this unbeatable triple is for me an ingenious and attractive alternative. My motto: Legal ... is not irrelevant! I wish you a lot of fun trying it out and much success, because even with these products the devil is in the detail.
